In lieu of our annual in-person summer picnic, NETA will experiment with something new. We will hold a modified Pecha Kucha online from 2 to 4 p.m. Pecha Kucha, a Japanese term for chit chat, is a form of storytelling where a person shows 20 images to a group of people and talks about each one for 20 seconds. The original idea was to share ideas and passions with others.
We've adapted the concept to our group so that any NETA member who so wishes has five minutes to talk about a hobby or interest, supported by photos if desired, and then the rest of the group has 10 minutes to discuss that topic with the speaker and with each other. For this event we're looking for interests outside the realm of translation and interpreting.
Members will receive publicity with pertinent links for sign-up, so please join in from wherever you are located. The more the merrier!
