Artificial Intelligence is no longer a distant concept. It is rapidly entering the spaces where interpreters and translators work, often without clear standards, safeguards, or training. This presentation will explore the findings and emerging insights from a current multi-week survey and community dialogue project titled AI in Interpreting Practice.
We will examine how AI is already being used (or tested) in legal, medical, and community interpreting, the ethical and professional standards that must guide us, and the potential new role interpreters may take on as this technology evolves.
